Entrance test
All applicants are welcome to participate to the entrance test, which is organized on Friday 20th April 2012 at Sotkamon lukio (Akkoniementie 25, 88601 Sotkamo).
The entrance test consists of an interview in the morning (in small groups, between 9:00-11:00) and written tests are in the afternoon.
In the morning, applicants can follow IB lessons, meet IB students and have a free lunch at school (11:00- 11:45).
The written tests start at 12. All tests are in English. All applicants participate in English test, Mathematics test and 1 science test (the applicant can choose between physics, chemistry or biology). Finnish students also take part in a Finnish test. There will be a short break between the first two tests. Applicants can have a small snack. Written tests will end around 15:00
We strongly recommend that students and their parents are present on the day of the entrance test. While the students are taking the tests, parents will receive practical information and have the opportunity to visit the school, its surroundings and get answers to possible questions.
Applicants who want to combine the IB studies and sport, need to take part in physical tests. The tests for snowboarding are on 19th April, for cross-country skiing and biathlon on 23rd April.
For overseas students, please contact the IB coordinator, Virpi Kemppainen. E-mail: virpi.kemppainen[at]kailu.fi
